Really first Art-Journal!

Yoohoo!!!

Today I have made my very first Art-Journal :-)

I was looking for one for a couple of weeks now, but I think I'm a bit to picky as I still didn't had one...
Or I thought of the ones I found they where to smal or to big or to pricey or...
Until....
Friday I discovered jennibellie her YouTube channel and she has inspired me to start and make one myself using cardboard boxes and thick junkmail.
I started on the cover Saturday and today I have finished it off.
As of tomorrow I can start using it to try out new techniques or just play around....

For the cover I used a box of and covered it up with some scraps of pages of an old book.
after that I covered it with some tissue paper, white-washed it witch gesso and colored it with some acrylic paint.
I have made some stencils and used them to create some texture.
I glued down a picture I had colored with watercolor pencils a while ago.
To give it the finishing touch I used some glitter pens to color or outline some drawing or paintings...
Unfortunately after everything was done I wanted to seal everything with glossy mod podge.
This was a big mistake because it made the glitter pen smudge (is this the right word??? :s )

All things considering I'm happy with the results and I hope I can get a lot of joy working in this journal...

here are some more photos of the back- and inside of the cover....

If you wanna see how to make this journal you can watch the tutorial Jennibellie did on youtube here.

Hope you all had a creative weekend as well,
See you all soon...

Mini Album for Mother's Day

Hey all,

The last couple of weeks I was bussy making a mini album to give my mom for mother day.
Sinds it was only my second album, and this one was a lot larger than my first, it took me a while to finish it. Not that I mind, cause I loved making it!

After I made the video, I put in all the photo's. The end result wasn't that bad as I am new to all of this.
My mum really loved her gift, not only did she get this mini album, she also got a large print of the 3 grandchildren in a nice frame. I don't think we could give her something she would have loved more....

It took me some time to upload the video, but finally it is online @ YouTube.
You can go and take a look a the finishing product here:

Please leave a comment below with some feedback as I really would love to learn and become as good as all those wonderful people out there on YouTube!

See you all soon....

Hey everyone,

I had a really creative day today!
After doing some shopping, I had the whole day to myself.
So, I decided to make some flowers that I can use later on a mini album, a card,...
I have tried some new techniques, some of them worked out just fine, others will need some practice ;-)
Thank you SaCrafters for your wonderful tutorial! You really inspired me!
Please check her out, she is so talented : http://sacrafters.blogspot.com/ and https://www.youtube.com/user/SaCrafters

Very first mini album!

I finally finished my very first mini album!
Yoohoo!!!!

It is very basic if I compare it with all those wonderful albums I see out there, but there is room for improvement ;-)

I only have been scrapping for a couple of weeks now, so I don't have a lot of material yet.
I don't have any inks, so I wasn't able to distress the edges, I hope to buy some very soon.
I didn't have any cutouts, punch, lace, ...
I had to be very creative making almost all the embellishments myself.
For for example:
I don't have any flowers yet, so I had to make them all myself.
Luckily there are some great tutorials on youtube to help me how to make them and help me find some inspiration.
I have cut down and painted some old curtains and tablecloths for fabric, recycled used paper,... :p

I really love the beautiful things you're all making!
Most off what I know comes from :

LuvLee Scrappin : Leanne, you are the reason I started making a mini album, You have learnt me so much! thank you so much!

Tracys Treasures : I have watched all your video's! You have inspired me at so many levels! Thank you so much Tracy!

♥My Passion for Paper♥ : Leonie, you are so talented! thank you for letting uw enjoy the wonderful things you make!

Thank you so much you all!
I definitely have found myself a new hobby!

If I found the courage, I will post some photo's of the inside soon.... ;-)

See you all soon...

donderdag 13 maart 2014

yesterday my daughter came home from school with a self-made gift.
She had made me a pin board in art class.
She had painted it beige and had decoupage some hearts on it.
Finally she had connected some elastic cord on it so I can put photo's on it.

I really Love it!
Not only did she made it with lots of love for me, she did a great job!
I will hang it up above my desk and put some photo's and cards of her and her sister on it.

Thank You so much honey!

Hello All Out There!

Yoohoo!!!

Finally!
I have been doubting for a while now.
I really don't know if anybody is going to read my blog, but we will see...

Lets start to introduce myself:
Due to some health problems I am forced to be a stay at home mom to my 2 lovely teenage daughters.
They are 15 and 13 years old.
I have a wonderful husband who always was (and is) very supportive to all I was (am) doing.

Sinds I have lots of free time now, I have restart an old hobby: Crafting.
I like all sorts of crafting, but mainly I make some jewelry with all kind of pearls and I love scrapbooking and mixed media.
Those 2 last ones are fairly new to me, so I still have to learn a lot about making some masterpieces ;-)
Lucky for me, there are lots of wonderful people out here who inspire me endlessly.

As I am a beginner and don't have lots of material to work with, I have to be double creative.
I love searching for a low budget solution for all the material I don't have yet, but need to make a uniek piece of art.

My plan is to come here a least ones a week and keep you posted on everything I have been working on and hopefully I will be able to inspire one of you aswel.

Now last but not least, I'm from Belgium, so my English isn't that good and I will make some mistakes every ones in a while. I hope this blog will help me to improve my English.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask, I will be more than happy to anser them.

See you soon,
Bye...
